Inhalers With Milk in Them

Advair
•Do not use ADVAIR DISKUS if you have a severe allergy to milk proteins. Do not use ADVAIR DISKUS or ADVAIR HFA if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in the products. Ask your healthcare provider if you are not sure.

My Brio
Do not use BREO if you have a severe allergy to milk proteins or are allergic to any of the ingredients in BREO. Ask your healthcare provider if you are not sure.

Anoro Ellipta (AU)
Don't use ANORO ELLIPTA
If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to lactose or milk protein

Asmanex Twisthaler
Before using mometasone, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients (such as lactose, milk proteins), which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.

Breo Ellipta
Don't use BREO ELLIPTA:
If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to lactose or milk protein

Flovent Disks
Each blister on the strip contains a white powder mix of micronized fluticasone propionate (50, 100, or 250 mcg) in 12.5 mg of formulation containing lactose monohydrate (which contains milk proteins). After the inhaler is activated, the powder is dispersed into the airstream created by the patient inhaling through the mouthpiece.

ProAir Respiclick
Do not use ProAir RespiClick (albuterol sulfate) Inhalation Powder if you are allergic to albuterol, lactose, or milk proteins.

Relenza
You should not use Relenza if you are allergic to zanamivir or to lactose (milk protein). Before using this medicine, tell your doctor if you have asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or any other chronic lung condition.

Relenza is packaged in disk-shaped foil packs that contain 4 blisters of medicine. These disks are placed into a device called a DISKHALER that you will use to inhale the medicine. The device opens and loads a blister of inhalation powder each time you use the inhaler.

Tudorza Pressair Inhaler
TUDORZA PRESSAIR (aclidinium bromide inhalation powder) is contraindicated in patients with severe hypersensitivity to milk proteins or who have hypersensitivity to aclidinium bromide or any of the excipients.

We've used topical mometasone--does it have the same risk factor?

Consult the if American PDR- Physicians' Desk Reference. If Canadian CPS- Compendium of Pharmaceuticals and Specialties These are large books with information on various human drugs. Your pharmacist and Doctor should have these books. My library does as well, these books also have manufacture contact information, so should your prescription. Look for lactose, as lactose is the sugar found in milk, lactose is used in MANY drugs.
