New Energy Device is made from Peanuts (article)
Scientists in Canada have created a hybrid sodium ion capacitor (NIC) from peanut shells in a pioneering study bridging the gap between conventional ion batteries and
supercapacitors.

Drax to build three electricity plants that burn renewable biomass fuel (article)

Gasifying walnut shells for heat and electricity in California (article)
In the past, most of the walnut shell was sold to a nearby large commercial biomass plant.
Now, the shell is converted to electricity and heat onsite.

Totally Nuts: This Farm Runs on Walnut Shells (article)
For the record, walnut shells are, in fact, producing power at Dixon Ridge. Lots of it. Using a machine that converts organic waste into natural syngas, Lester has saved upwards
of $75,000 a year in energy costs. And with the installation of two new BioMax 100 converters, he anticipates up to $250,000 in annual savings. That’s no joke.

Macadamia Power Plant (article)
"Regionally based Suncoast Gold Macadamias (SGM) processing site produces about 5000 tonnes of waste macadamia nut shells each year. The shells
previously were sent to landfill, garden mulch or burned to produce heat. The plant will now utilise the shells as fuel for cogeneration, thereby
increasing the energy efficiency of the site."
Creating electricity from nuts, I believe is only a problem for people who work at power plants that use this resource.
