Paint Made From Eggs

Sennelier Artist Egg Tempera
"Sennelier egg tempera has working qualities and a finish that is only found in authentic egg tempera made in the traditional manner. These delicate colors hold their brush strokes, and do not change when dry. Egg tempera can be worked with a brush or a palette knife (diluted with water) on non-greasy supports like acrylic primed canvas or paper."

Darer Rowney Artists Egg Tempera
"Daler-Rowney is proud to be one of the few paint makers offering classical egg tempera — one of the world's oldest painting mediums — in ready-mixed tubes for contemporary fine art applications."

Charlene Paints With Colors Made From Eggshells
"Collagen can be harvested from eggshells and used in calcium supplements. The egg white and yolk are used in food products. Through innovative technology, ECOtrend Collagen is made by using the egg’s membrane (collagen) as its main natural ingredient and binding agent to produce an environment friendly paint.

Egg Tempra Paint
"Egg tempera is a painting process that uses egg yolk to bind pigments. The artist must manufacture the paints him or herself by the simple process of mixing finely ground pigment, water and dilute egg yolk."

Absolutely fascinating! My son was allergic to flax seed and I did research to find out linoleum was made from linseed oils, which is flax seed. But..it was soooo processed there would be no danger.
